Our Heritage

Our founder Brian Glynn, developed our first metal mobile step-stool in 1977 and from this has grown a complete range of mobile step-stools of his own design under his personal guidance and in accordance with his founding principles, which are:

• that our step-stools always be manufactured in accordance with and certified to the most stringent formal European safety standards available
• that , beyond this, innovation and constant improvement, based on our personal observation and in response to end-user and trade distributor feedback would always be our constant goal – a goal which still informs our judgement and decisions in our fourth decade

A Brief History

Salestrend Limited was established in 1978, originally for the sole purpose of marketing and distributing metal mobile step-stools from the newly set up production of the Alton Group of companies, principally through the EU office Supplies Sector. Subsequent years saw other product lines added and the operation crossed over into other market sectors but a decision has now been made at group level that Salestrend will, from 2010 go back to basics and focus again on it’s original aims. Other non-stationery/OE products are now the responsibility of a stand alone company and, as always, manufacturing is the sole responsibility of our sister company – Wuxi MFM, who also handle all very high volume OEM enquiries.
